Dr. Maccoby participates in a Weekly Forum on Washington Post.com called "On Leadership". I am compiling all of his responses to the weekly questions here.
'Choice' of perfectionsIt is a mistake to believe that someone who approaches perfection in one area can be perfect in all of life. In his short poem "The Choice," the great Irish poet W. B. Yeats writes of being forced to choose between "perfection of the life or of the work." We have seen throughout history that extremely gifted perfectionists, especially in the arts, politics, and sports, are far from perfect in their private lives. Tiger Woods has been constructed by his public relations team and many sponsors into a model of perfection in all things, an image that has cracked, leaving intact the great golf perfectionist who has been and I hope will continue to be a leader on many leader boards and for his own foundation. | TMG Home | PTWC | Articles | Books | Contact Info | Comments | This web site is being maintained by Maria |
